Addendum.
The Black Galvantula Verse.
During the first strike of Team Plasma, he ended up getting (mistakenly) recruited by the Interpol to defend citizens around Castelia City. The boy easily fit every requirement of such a role, and since it aligned with his desire to protect his home region, he accepted it fully. His rank and position within the organisation remain a mystery to the vast majority of agents, only making mention of a ‘mentor’ whose identity is yet to be revealed.
This 'mentor' took Nate as his protégée, serving as a tutor during his career. He's also responsible for Nate not having to be legally taken under his parents' guardianship once again.
Rumour has it that amongst the streets of Castelia City, wrongdoers will be delivered justice by *’Black Galvantula’*. The ghost vigilante has never made an appearance but as a shadow, most citizens believing it is another urban legend. Only a few have witnessed his signature Pokémon instead, a mysterious dark-coloured Galvantula ready to put an end to all crime in the city.
This rumour eventually reached PokéStar Studios, becoming the new movie sensation. Nate obtained the role of the vigilante himself. However, due to the police’s legal involvement, the name of the movie was changed to “The Sneasel Ninja”. He was portrayed as a “criminal” in an attempt to discourage any vigilante activity from the viewers.
The plan backfired when, even if depicted as a villain, the fans acclaimed Nate’s characterisation of Castelia’s infamous vigilante, and with the rise in viewers and outsold tickets, the charts declared the movie the unanticipated success of the decade. A sequel was released, and the unredeemable “Sneasel Ninja” profits were again off the charts. Still, PokéWood has yet to confirm the suspected new third instalment.
The true 'Black Galvantula, however, has made but very few recent appearances around the streets. With people having the legend as a symbol of justice, helping each other in dire circumstances, it seems the need for a rogue vigilante is no more. Or… so Nate hopes.
