Headcanons.

Having spent much of his life as a convict, he developed a keen eye to tell honest individuals apart. His appreciation and respect for said virtue is tremendously high. He can't help but feel like he ought to protect it.

Has killed and isn’t afraid to kill, much less resort to ugly means if necessary. Growing up in a big-fish-eat-tiny-fish environment left marks on him. In truth, he is quick to make decisions, he just pretends to rumminate on them for the sake of showing people's true colors. Makes it easier to figure out people's true intentions.

Wriothesley isn’t his real name. He adopted it on the day he was sent to Meropide. It was a name taken from a tombstone he saw a long time ago. The reason for picking this name for himself was simple: the more complicated the name, the easier it was to slip away while the Gardes tried to say it aloud.

He is always trying to come up with alternatives when dealing with criminals. He makes sure to understand and find the core of the problem before coming up with a fitting punishment, or a solution that can help rehabilitate convicts.

Enjoys routine to a fault, but doesn’t mind making certain amends for the right people. He's not a workaholic, however, slipping away now and then from his office to enjoy his well-earned freedom.

Has a soft spot for Melusines. They were always kind and compassionate towards him throughout his life, and for that, Wriothesley holds a great deal of gratitude for them. He shows his appreciation by letting them get away with a few harmless tricks and pranks Melusines love to pull on him.

Tea enjoyer. He’s extremely picky when it comes to his tea leaf suppliers, and whose company he chooses to enjoy it with.

His desire to have a pet companion is probably one of the biggest burdens of living in an undersea Fortress.

He has a hidden fascination for the more refined and graceful side of Fontanian etiquette, but you’ll never catch him alive trying to emulate it. Since he comes from a completely contrasting background, it’s easy to dispel these practices as natural from the Duke. Although all things considered, he’s still quite the chivalrous fella with all the good deeds in his pocket. Truly, one ought to get him in a foul mood for him to forget his manners.

Alcohol was a rare and expensive luxury only enjoyed by a few within the fortress, he never developed a taste for it. Once his sentence was over, however, he was eager to try it. To his dismay, he found the experience quite… disappointing. It didn't taste bad, he simply had formed completely different expectations.

[Previous] doesn’t mean he won’t drink alcohol. After all, he understands spirits are a necessary evil in various social settings (which is known he will avoid like the plague). He simply prefers tea over any other type of drink. Surprisingly enough, he isn’t a lightweight. Perhaps genes?

He enjoys music. Has a wide collection of songs he plays on his phonograph, most of them classical music. It makes long nights working in his office much easier.

Given it is often a struggle to find clothes his size, Wriothesley has tailored every piece of clothing he wears. He used to mend his sibling’s clothing when he was young, and continued this practice up until his adulthood. Clothing used to be sold at exorbitant prices within the Fortress too, so it was learned more as a necessity than a hobby.

He has a knack for making bets with friends and colleages just about anything in the spur of the moment. He does this for entertainment's sake but he tends to get pretty invested in it. Truth of the matter being he couldn't care less for what he wins. And contrary to this, he isn't as easygoing when it comes to talking business.
