Trustworthy. Loyal. Dependable.

A serious and frank individual, Wriothesley is willing to take matters into his own hands. He’s assertive and prefers to deal with situations early on. Still, if you look closer, he carries a very subtle nonchalance in his step and the tiniest flare of mischief in his speech. He’s polite but enjoys teasing around when in trusted company. But you’ll never find him wasting time when there’s a job to be done. He is a man who understands well his position as the head administrator of Meropide.

Given his life experiences, Wriothesley’s sense of justice tends to follow an eye-for-an-eye type of moral, bordering on an unsympathetic approach for those who refuse to abide by the code. Whose code, you ask? Depends on his mood after carefully analysing the transgression at hand.

Despite this, Wriothesley is highly efficient towards his job, dealing easily with both schemes and schemers the same. He is surprisingly skilled in managing resources and a real ace at diplomacy, always trying to be fair to all parties involved. He usually finds a happy middle, almost effortlessly. It may seem like luck, but figuring out what people truly want is a learned skill that took him many years. Fraternal and protective, Wriothesley is often thinking ahead for the well-being of others. He isn't one to sit and watch, actively crafting solutions behind everyone's knowledge. Why did he never tell anybody? Well, because nobody ever asked. They did? Ah, well, maybe he forgot then.

Honourable. Reasonable. Shrewd.

A simple man that holds his convictions close and his motivations closer. He’s not an idealist, but neither enjoys making others face cold realities without offering better alternatives. He is receptive to change and quite resourceful. Very few times he chooses to be obstinate and do things his way, but he can be quite determined when an idea enters his mind. However, being a problem-solver doesn't mean he gets hooked on situations that are simply out of his reach, but he is quick to find other ways to assist.

The Duke isn’t necessarily a charismatic figure, but he is well-spoken. He has little trouble pointing out other people's virtues, often resorting to flattery. Experience has taught him to keep his enemies closer, so he might as well turn them into allies. It’s not unusual to find him larking about the most dangerous convicts, often earning their respect after a good spar at the Pankration Ring. However, he isn’t native. The man has no trouble coming up with a good excuse to skip dealing with the pretentious and the vain, be it people or commitments.

In his eyes, everyone’s equal. This doesn’t make Wriothesley necessarily kind but he is understanding towards others, his attempts genuine (and yes, this also includes criminals), always letting his actions speak for themselves. He is reliable in his decisions to always protect others and adheres to the rules, often ignoring his own comfort to achieve this. But Wriothesley has no issue turning a blind eye towards obligation when it comes to doing the right thing.

Intimidating. Mistrustful. Reserved/Privy. Emotionally detached.

His courage stems from a need to prevent ugly situations and even harsher consequences. If the means count as a little unethical, so be it. He hates the idea of someone having to go through what he did. Still, no matter how much he’s convinced some situations need to be dealt with a cruel hand, he will always listen to reason before doing something he’ll regret.

Throughout the years, Wriothesley has detached himself from his emotions. He dislikes discussing them or getting too wrapped up in heartfelt situations. Not because he doesn’t want to, but because they make him feel at a loss. He prefers moving on from his past, knowing well it’s something he can’t change. He tends to bottle in too much and for a man who excels at forming partnerships and new business trades, he lacks self-awareness about his own emotional needs. Being one to tell others to follow the law, he shouldn't have the hugest tendency to act so defiant. Perhaps he repeats this line out of a need to remind himself there are better solutions than resorting to violence.

Emotionally secluded and thick-skinned, he is a man with walls too high for people to climb. Lonely to a fault, but only because he’s truly seen the worst of humanity. Dislikes being in the spotlight, enjoying a more quiet ambience and a patch of grass to lie on. He can be perceived as laidback, hardly losing his cool, but he’s quite unforgiving towards those who resort to cruelty (the irony). He can risk his life to protect the innocent, willing to break the law or disobey an unjust order just to do what is morally right.
